This guide will enable you to set up an @my-iPhone email account on Apple Mail. Version 4.1 is used for this guide however other Mail versions will follow a similar, if not the same, process.
Step 1 – Enter Initial @my-iPhone Details
Open Mail and click ‘File’ on the top menu bar then ‘Add Account’. Enter the following details:
Full Name: Enter your name
Email Address: Enter your full @my-iPhone email address
Password: Enter your @my-iPhone password
Mail will start ‘Searching for mail servers for the specified email address…’ but will fail with the error ‘Mail can’t verify the identity of “my-iphone.com”’. Click ‘Connect’.
Step 2 – Enter The Incoming Mail Details
A new window requesting information for the ‘Incoming Mail Server’ will appear, so set the following:
Account Type: Ensure this is set to POP
Description: Enter your full @my-iPhone email address
Incoming Mail Server: pop.my-iphone.com
User Name: Enter your full @my-iPhone email address
Password: Should already be complete but is your @my-iPhone password

Click Continue and Mail will start ‘Checking connection to mail server “pop.my-iphone.com’ but will fail with the error ‘Mail can’t verify the identity of “pop.my-iphone.com”’. Click ‘Connect’.
Step 3 – Enter The Outgoing Mail Details
You will now see a window requesting information for the ‘Outgoing Mail Server’, so set the following:
Description: smtp.my-iphone.com
Outgoing Mail Server: smtp.my-iphone.com
Click the ‘Use Authentication’ box and enter
User Name: Enter your full @my-iPhone email address
Password: Should already be complete but is your @my-iPhone password

Click Continue and Mail will start ‘Checking connection to mail server “smtp.my-iphone.com’ but will fail with the error ‘Mail can’t verify the identity of “smtp.my-iphone.com”’. Click ‘Connect’.
Step 4 – Finish @my-iPhone Mail Account Set Up
An ‘Account Summary’ will be displayed. Ensure that ‘Take account online’ is selected and then click the ‘Create’ button. The set up window will close and in the Mail application your @my-iPhone mail account will show as an account in the Inbox.
Right click on the account and select ‘Edit “your @my-iPhone account name”’. A window will appear. On the left your @my-iPhone email account will be highlighted. On the right will be 3 tabs ‘Account Information’, ‘Mailbox Behaviors’ and ‘Advanced’. Click the ‘Advanced’ tab and find the Use SSL checkbox. Uncheck the box and the ‘Port:’ will change from 995 to 110.

Close the window and you will be asked to ‘Save changes to the POP account’. Select ‘Save’.
Your @my-iPhone email account should now be ready to use. (Note: some Internet Service Providers will not let you send outgoing email unless you use their SMTP service. If this is the case then you will need to change the ‘Outgoing mail Server (SMTP)’ settings only).
